WEDNESDAY 29th JUNE 2016 - MEETING ELLIE

Today was supposed to be the most exciting day so you wouldn't expect us to sleep till midday!    I think it's the first time we've had a chance to stop and breathe and that's exactly what we did.  The bed was so comfortable and the house so quiet that nothing stirred us.

After our early afternoon breakfast a quick walk down to the shed was in order for the unveiling of Ellie, our 1975 Moto Guzzi Eldorado 850 Police Special.  She looked so damn good that we hardly noticed the perfect '57 GMC, the '58 Ford Custom and the '65 Mustang.  We only had eyes for our Ellie.
Mike had earlier charged the battery but was unable to get her started.   Either could Paul.   A bit of detective work in the electrical department soon revealed the starter button was hidden!  Because she had a key start switch the un-seeable starter button was not looked for.  Once found Ellie fired in to life and sounded sweet.  A test ride was in order and Paul returned with a large grin across his face.  All is good.
Meanwhile, Clara and I walked to the supermarket to buy some ingredients.  We made kidney bean burritos for dinner while the boys finished up with the check-over of Ellie.   We also finally got to meet Mike's eldest daughter Jessica.   I've watched the girls grow up through photo's that have been sent to us over the last 12 years but nothing prepared us for just how beautiful and gorgeous they really are.   Mike, they are a credit to you..
