THURSDAY 23rd JUNE 2016 - CENTRAL PARK

We surprised ourselves by waking up early and heading off in a different direction from our Hotel.   We had breakfast on the run at a lovely little shop called 'The Bread Factory'.  The pannini was lovely but not sure about the huge pile of crisps underneath it...!!!

We made our way to Central Park.  It was beautiful and became more so the further we walked around.  We were entertained by the many squirrels.  I couldn't resist having a ride on the merry-go-round.
There were many wonderful pockets of trees, seating areas, ponds, lakes, a castle and sculptural areas dotted throughout the park.
Without meaning to we'd left the best the park had to offer till last - Strawberry Fields - made famous by John LENNON.  We also saw Dakota where he and Yoko ONO lived (right opposite the park).

We made our way back towards 5th Avenue delighting in the gardens and trees along the way.  Not to mention the musicians and artists that lined some of the paved areas.
We came back to madness at the Grand Army Plaza and walked down 5th Avenue - my kinda place - Louis Vuitton, Prada, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Ralph Lauren, Versace, and more.   I sauntered in to one shop and can honestly say I've never seen clothing and shoes more exquisite.  Not sure how they expect people to shop though - nothing had a price tag on it...!!!

We walked past Trump Towers and thought we should go in.  Security was tight.   I was patted down and immediately pulled to one side and asked if I had a gun in the back of my trousers?   Obviously the answer was no, but they mistook the metal brackets holding my pelvis on to my spine as a weapon!
We eventually returned to our room completely exhausted.  We'd had a great day.  Now it was time to rest, order room service and fall asleep not too long after!
