SUNDAY 26th JUNE 2016 - MOVED DOWNTOWN, VISITED JOEL at YONKERS

We decided to move to a different location in New York City to make it easier to see other features without having to catch the subway everywhere.
We chose Downtown (Financial District) and moved to Hampton Inn on Pearl Street.  The taxi dropped us off outside the Hotel, we  went in and discovered that they had no record of our booking!   Would you believe there are TWO Hampton Inn's in Pearl Street.   Wonder how that happened...???

Once at the right place we couldn't move in for a couple of hours.  We left our bags in the lobby and explored the immediate area.  Had breakfast at a beautiful french patisserie Le Pain Quotidien.  Food was superb.
We wandered along the shore-line and saw where the ferries take visitors to the Statue of Liberty.   We explored the Clinton Fort, enjoyed a market and sampled a few goodies along the way.

Once we settled in our room we caught the subway to Van Courtland Park where we were met by fellow Guzzi rider Joel.  We drove to Yonkers, met Sandy, his wife, settled in for a great chat but the two furry members of the household wanted to have the last say.  Luke and Lucy were really nice dogs despite their constant chatter.  I did enjoy his tin guard dog on the front lawn though.
Paul enjoyed checking out his Eldorado and confirming a few questions he had in his head about our bike which is yet to be seen.
We went to a beaut place called Maud's Tavern at Hastings on Hudson.   Enjoyed a lovely meal with Joel & Sandy, followed by frozen yoghurt with choice of toppings before being driven back to the subway station. Thanks Joel & Sandy for a wonderful evening full of chat, food and motorcycles.
